My wife recently pointed out to me that I had been driving past a possible hiking spot for years without noticing it. At the edge of Loudon County, Virginia is the Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship which offers 14 hiking trails covering some 9 miles.
So on Sunday I took a little wander to find out what the place is like and it's gorgeous. Woodland trails, fields, streams, ponds and assorted wildlife. I imagine I'll be going back quite frequently. I'm particularly looking forward to getting some pictures of the woods as the leaves turn.
