DC Comics Art — Death by Jim Calafiore

AImKeNhN_2305140155041Here’s a great bit of commissioned artwork by Jim Calafiore.

Death is probably the strongest character in Neil Gaiman’s Sandman series. More so than the rather wishy-washy Sandman himself. It helps of course that her portrayal runs so contrary to the traditional appearance of death.

The design of this particular sketch is actually a homage to the LIFE Magazine cover featuring Alfred Hitchcock posed in similar fashion for his movie The Birds.
