Microscale LEGO Helms Deep, Minas Tirith and Bag End

I’m always impressed by people who can build LEGO structures at microscale. You’ve got so few bricks to work with that you have to somehow strip out all the intricate details form an object and yet still get across what makes it distinctive.

Which is exactly what builder Barton Thinks has done with his microscale recreations of Helm’s Deep and Minas Tirith from The Lord of the Rings. If you’ve watched the movies, you can pretty much immediately recognize these castles. They are quite brilliant in their simplicity. His (non-castle obviously) microscale Bag End is equally impressive.

Barton Thinks has produced a lot of other microscale creations outside of Middle-Earth that are also worth a look.
